The exercises and ideas in this book are very helpful. I had always wanted to take up meditation because of the benefits I had read about. I didn't know how to start. I was unsure about going to a class because I didn't want to be the only one in my group of friends or family who was doing it. I also didn't want to explain it too others. I have been a bit emotionally closed off and I don't like to share a lot with others. On top of all of this was the misconceptions that I had attached to meditation: that it took hours a day and a lot of work. Andy Puddicombe makes meditation an achievable practice. By breaking it down into the most important parts and using engaging stories to explain the importance of each aspect, he really motivated me to improve my life with just a few minutes each day.
